VBS 2020

The FPC FirstKids Team has been praying and creatively thinking about ways we can resource and support you in discipling your children this COVID-19 summer. While we would normally host Vacation Bible School, current conditions prohibit us from a large gathering of kids where social distancing would be impossible. Clearly, this makes us sad! We LOVE VBS and the host of children, students, and adults who bring it together. VBS serves not only as a means of discipleship, but also of fellowship and outreach to the community.

The good news is that for the last several years, FPC has partnered with Orange VBS for curriculum and planning. Orange is on the cutting edge of children’s ministry, particularly in providing content that's digital and easily accessible. The 2020 VBS theme is FOCUS - Take a Closer Look. In an effort to keep everyone safe and comfortable, but also engaged in a meaningful VBS experience, the FirstKids Team has curated FOCUS @ Home.

FOCUS @ Home will include all of the things your children love about VBS: worship with fun new songs, video skits and stories, age-specific crafts, and options for snack and recreation. Most importantly, it will help you share with your children the truth that Jesus wants to be their Friend forever. It will be available no later than June 15, but you must SIGN UP below.

FAST FACTS

  • We will equip you with everything you need for the week through personal content of lessons, guided discussion, meaningful activities, and practical tools to make this a fun, simple, and powerful experience! We are confident that as you take advantage of the offerings, they will bring deeper connection and gospel conversations right into your home.

  • You have the option of utilizing the FOCUS @ Home materials solely on your own within your family, or sharing the content with friends and neighbors. Who knows? FOCUS @ Home could very well become outreach in your own backyard!

  • There is no set date or time to participate, but we do hope that you will make this a priority before the end of July.

  • We plan to enlist an army of warriors praying over FOCUS @ Home because we believe this model creates an exciting opportunity for God to move in the hearts of every family member. Your family will be prayed over, by name, before, during, and after this experience.

  • As VBS is not VBS without some fabulous prizes, all kids who complete FOCUS @ Home will be recognized and rewarded. Your content package will let you know how to communicate this to us and claim your prizes.
